HRRA Plans for 2013

Co-Chair Julie Eason:

Plans are afoot to set up a young HRRA section, and to look at running a partnership project in our local schools to support their endeavours to eliminate homophobic bullying. We are also working with SEAP, one of the largest and longest established advocacy charities in the country, who have their head office in Hastings, to develop a project to provide advocates to support the trans community in accessing health services and to combat workplace based discrimination. We are pleased that this project has cleared the first round of the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, and are working to ensure it becomes a reality.

Our trans group is going from strength to strength, and plans are underway to set up a support group for partners and significant others.

In addition a bereavement support group for lesbians who have lost their partners is being developed.

If you have any suggestions for future groups you would like to see set up please leave a comment below. Alternatively email us at info@www.hrra.org.uk.
