Trans Group A new group, hrra-t, is being set up with the first meeting on 31 March 2012. Please look at the hrra-t page for full details. ![]() “Opening The Closet Door: A Celebration of LGBT Life Stories” An LGBT Oral History event in February 2012 This exciting HRRA event took place on Saturday 18th February 2012, at Stade Hall, Hastings. Link to Facebook page for the event HRRA urges LGBT people to fill in questionnaire about their needs and experiences Following the successful Equalities Forum on November 5th, the forum is launching its second piece of research – this time focusing on LGBT communities! This anonymous questionnaire gives local LGBT people the chance to speak up, and to share their stories and experiences. Visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/lgbthastingsandrother to find out more or to take the questionnaire. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon, including dates of drop-in sessions at which you can fill in the questionnaire for those who don’t have a computer or are not sure about how to work the survey. The forum’s first report on LGBT equalities in Hastings, Rother and wider East Sussex is now available! It maps the equality policies and initiatives of our local public services, and makes a series of recommendations for public services, communities and community groups, and the equalities forum itself. HRRA 2011 AGM This years AGM took place in Bexhill on 7 October 2011. Further details are on the news and events page. Out and Proud - From Closet to Community A Celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans People as active citizens ![]() This exciting HRRA event took place on 26 February 2011 at the Azur, Marine Pavilion, St Leonards on sea. The event was a great sucess with attendees and the stall holders alike. There were speakers, entertainment, free food, bar available, information stands and much more. Over 300 attendees enjoyed the music and entertainment provided and visited the 25 community information stalls. Joining HRRA To Join: If you would like to join the Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance (membership is free), please download and complete this form (pdf reader required) (or Word Format) and email or post it to us. We would like to increase our membership to include as many of the members of the LGBT communities locally. The LGBT Guide to 1066 Country HRRA have produced a new version of this guide detailing LGBT social events, contacts & support information along with a list of venues that are LGBT friendly.
